Family Summer Holidays
Late July to early September marks the British summer. Schools across the country to take a longer break and millions of families flock to the airport to take a well deserved break away. Traditionally, families spend their summer vacation on a fly and flop beach break, where days are spent lazing by the pool and beach. It is understandable that summer many families will travel abroad each year and is an ideal way to unwind from the stresses and strains of everyday life. However, travel a little further a thing on the ground and completely different experience, or breathe new life into you and your family than any beach ever could.
For something really adventurous, July is the perfect time to head to the mountains of Mongolia. The land of Genghis Khan is something your family will never forget and a very different experience than they’re used. Transport links are pretty basic and contrast housing – luxury hotels in nomad tents in rural areas.
Mongolia has warm summers are short and temperatures averaging 21 degrees Celsius in July – enough to complete the tan. Flights arrive in Ulan Bator, a city at the foot of a ridge. Ulan Bator is a remote station with a lot of beautiful hotels and activities to justify a couple of days of stay – at least. Visit the remains of dinosaurs found in Gobi Desert or the country’s largest monastery. However, most travelers to this beautiful country to go to the field and experience what life is really like the Mongolian nomads.
For a holiday experience seeped in rich cultural and ecological wonders, head to Peru in August. Fly into Lima and then take a flight 40 minutes in the beautiful city of Cuzco. From there you can walk the famous Inca site of Machu Picchu, which is northwest of the city or escape the crowds and stay in the Manu National Park exciting.
Spend a few days in Cuzco, it is useful to explore the beautiful colonial streets and then when you finish your adventure in the Machu Picchu Inca take another 40-minute flight to Boca Manu. From there, on a motor boat and down the river Madre de Dios to rustic cabins in the Manu Wildlife Center. You need at least three days here for a jungle experience, where you and your family can spend the afternoon exploring the jungle in search of monkeys, take a boat to visit the Amazon parrots and big party Macaws on clay. Take boat trips during the night and climb to the top of the canopy to observe the activity of the animals of the jungle at dusk. From there, return flight to Cusco and enjoy the dry air and a relaxed atmosphere.
